At the Annual Meeting on January 8th, the 2003 Membership Award was presented
to Noble Hans Seba. Of the ninety-two (92) Crescent creations in 2003, Noble
Hans was the first line signer for eleven (11) of the new Shriners. Potentate
J. Michael Aaron when presenting an especially created jewel and certificate
stated, "Hans took our membership goals to heart and made a huge personal
effort to bring new members into Crescent."
Noble Seba became a Master Mason in 1967 in Mount Holly Lodge No. 14 and
joined Crescent in 1968. He was a long-time quartermaster for the former
Concert Band and attended many Imperial Sessions and MASA Conventions. Hans
served his Lodge as Worshipful Master in 2002 and is a member of the Burlington
County Shrine Club along with a great many other Masonic Bodies.
The Potentate also stated that Noble Hans is a "Traveling Man"
in the truest sense of the term, as he is almost a fixture in every lodge
in the 19th District and a very frequent visitor to many lodges in the 18th
District. As a genuine "Shrine Mason", Hans also actively recruits
new members for Blue Lodge, Scottish and York Rites, and Tall Cedars where
he will be serving as Grand Tall in the near future. Hans is a real asset
to Crescent and all of Freemasonry.
Two other Nobles also did an outstanding job, each first line signing five
(5) successful petitions last year. John Tilton and Jim Marshall both qualified
to receive an embroidered windbreaker jacket for their efforts. Many other
Nobles received staff shirts and tassel holders for bringing in two and
three new members.
Membership is a team effort and the contributions of every Noble are necessary.
Crescent did well in 2003, but we cannot afford to drop the ball, it is
time to redouble our efforts for 2004 and beyond.
