STRIVE FOR MORE IN 2004
Jerome J. Williams Illustrious Potentate

To be elected as the Potentate of Crescent Shrine is an opportunity that is humbling and yet rewarding.  I am honored by your confidence and want to thank all of the Nobles who elected me to this position.  I look forward to being your representative of Crescent Shrine in the busy year ahead.

There will be many meetings, events and Shrine functions for all of us to be involved.  As a cohesive and united Nobility, we will be able to strive to increase membership, devotion to the Shriners Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, and productivity in the Masonic Family.

Thank you again for the privilege of allowing me to serve as your Potentate.  With your support, together we can “Strive for More in 2004” and make this the most successful year possible.

On April 23, 1949, he and Bette Pontz were married.  Their two children are Diane Williams Deeds and Robert J. Williams.  He also has three grandchildren: Samantha, Peter and Thomas. His wife Bette passed away on February 16, 1996. The Illustrious Sir’s Masonic life began in Merchantville Lodge #119 in 1985, where he served as Master in 1990.  His many other Masonic and Shrine affiliations include: High Twelve - Nelson Craig Chapter (Past President), Camden County Shrine Club (Past President), Gloucester County Shrine Club, Burlington County Shrine Club, Crescent Golf Club, Knights of Mecca, ROJ Crescent #64, Royal Order of Scotland, AASR Valley of South Jersey, Order of the Eastern Star, Royal Arch Masons, and Crescent Shrine Director’s Staff.  His community organizations include the Boy Scouts of America, the American Legion, and he is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Merchantville.  Jerry served on the Appointed Divan as Marshal from 2000 to 2001 prior to his election as Assistant Rabban in 2002.  Jerry’s extensive Masonic affiliations and leadership will no doubt provide him with an excellent base for his year as Crescent Shrine Potentate
